Oral Hearing for the Dublin Waste to Energy Project
Friday 20th April - Day Two
This morning’s session began with Matt Twomey, Assistant City Manager of Dublin City Council, reading in his brief of evidence. Mr. Twomey presented evidence in the areas of waste management planning in the Dublin Region, waste management policy, as well as the general background of the project. PJ Rudden followed Mr. Twomey in giving evidence. Mr. Rudden is a Director with RPS Group and was giving evidence on waste management strategy, the feasibility study for thermal treatment, thermal treatment necessity and plant siting.
The afternoon session saw the beginning of the cross examination of the first four expert witnesses i.e. Mr. Murphy, Mr. McHugh, Mr. Twomey and Mr. Rudden. Once cross examination of the first group of witnesses finishes the hearing will move on to examine the next group of experts. The hearing will resume after the weekend on Monday at 10:00.
