Oral Hearing for the Dublin Waste to Energy Project

Day 3: Monday 23rd April

The cross examination of the first four Dublin City Council witnesses continued today at the oral hearing. Mr. Murphy, Mr. McHugh, Mr. Twomey and Mr. Rudden were questioned by members of the public on the issues of the Compulsory Purchase Order, planning and sustainable development, waste management planning in the Dublin Region, waste management policy, waste management strategy, the feasibility study for thermal treatment, thermal treatment necessity and plant siting, as well as the general background of the project.

Tomorrow morning will see the next witnesses reading in their briefs of evidence. The Inspector has decided that he is going to have all the briefs of evidence read in before any additional cross examination takes place. However, the Inspector is going to allow submissions from members of the public in tomorrow’s evening session that is taking place from 18:00 - 21:00
